Island Records Chris Blackwell, in association with renowned Black British play writer, actor and presenter Kwame Kwei-Armah, are set to stage a  musical play to commemorate the life and times of reggae legend Bob Marley.

The script which is to be written by Kwame Kwei Armah, will be inspired by the singles Bob Marley has become known for the world over. Song such as “Stir It Up”, “I shot the Sheriff”, and “No woman no cry”, will be some of the singles included in the upcoming Stageplay.

Set for London West End early next year, the play is executive produced by Chris Blackwell and will be directed and staged by Kwame Kwei Armah.

Kwame, who is a popular BBC presenter, is popularly known for his award winning Black British plays such as Elmina’s Kitchen and Fix It Up.
